The African Peer Review Mechanism has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the African Peer Review Mechanism Institutional Support Project (APRM-ISP) and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant as payments towards the contract for Library Scientist Consultant.
The APRM intends to recruit a Library Scientist consultant to assist the APRM Secretariat in setting-up its knowledge Hub and e-library platform to empower people with right information and create a knowledgeable Pan African Continent as well as ensure preservation of digital content for the posterity.
3)DURATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The Library Scientist Consultancy is scheduled to commence in October 2020 and the duration for the assignment shall be six (6) Months.
4)ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
The APRM now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (curriculum vitae and certified certificates, degrees etc.).
Applicants must demonstrate that they have:
i) Master’s degree in a field relevant to the assignment, for example in a Library Science or Archival science and documentation studies or Masters in Document Management
ii) Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing library, archiving and document management services in a reputable organization preferably University or any other institution of higher learning.
(iii) Further they should demonstrate the following competence and skills:
- Sound knowledge of information literacy development and e-learning in an organization
- Capacity to be innovative and dynamic in information provision and research support;
- Knowledge of collection development and policy development;
- Strong computer proficiency, including sound knowledge of the Windows environment;
- Excellent interpersonal, liaising and marketing skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work effectively within a multicultural team, as well as independently without supervision.
(iv)Applicants are required to provide an Up-to-date Certified Curriculum Vitae and supporting professional & academic documents and three referees. Only Shortlisted Candidates shall be issued with the Terms of Reference (TORS)
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations”, dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. MODE OF APPLICATION
Expressions of interest must be submitted through E-mail : [email protected] or physically to the address below on or before 13th August 2020 at 1100hrs. The REOI shall be opened on 13th August 2020 at 1100hrs, only shortlisted candidates will be requested to submit proposal.
