ZIMBABWE JOINS THE APRM FAMILY
Harare, Zimbabwe, 22 May 2017 – Zimbabwe President H.E Emerson Mnangagwa has confirmed that his country will join the APRM. This follows a courtesy visit by the APRM Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Eddy Maloka to the Zimbabwan President on 22 May 2019. Zimbabwe’s intention to accede to the Peer Review Mechanism is line with the AU Assembly Decision.1(XI), adopted at the 11th Extraordinary Session of the Assembly held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in November 2018.
ZAMBIA READY FOR TARGETED REVIEW
LUSAKA, 11 APRIL 2019. The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) delegation led by Bishop Dinis SENGULANE had a fruitful and productive meeting with the Zambian APRM Focal Point and Minister of Justice Hon. Given LUBINDA on the upcoming Targeted Review Workshop and Targeted Review Mission to Zambia.
MOZAMBIQUE READY TO IMPLEMENT THE APRM RECOMMENDATIONS
Maputo, 9 May 2019: At a high-profile event in Maputo, Mozambique, the President of the Republic of Mozambique, government officials, members of Parliament and the Judiciary, members of the Diplomatic Corp, international organisations, members of the APRM National Forum, political parties, religious Leaders, civil society organisations and the media gathered at the Joaquim Alberto Chissano Convention Centre for the public launch of the 2nd Country Review Report of Mozambique.

Technical Retreat of APRM / APSA Harmonisation
In the spirit of a peaceful and secure Africa and in furtherance of the goal of securing an end to conflicts in Africa, and supporting the AU’s ‘Silencing of the Guns” objective, a two-day Technical Retreat on the theme ‘Silencing the Guns: Pre-requisites for realizing a conflict-free Africa by the year 2020’ was held in Cape Town, South Africa.
Launch of the Djibouti Review Report
The Official Ceremony for the launch of the Review Report of Djibouti has kept its promises. The event, which was a great success, brought together more than 400 participants at the People’s Palace in Djibouti City.

APRM Support Mission to Namibia 20 -21 June 2019, Windhoek, Namibia
10 to 11 September 2018, Namibia hosted an advance mission from the APRM led by Ambassador Ombeni Sefue of the APR Panel of Eminent Persons. This was followed by a Support Mission from 20 to 21 June 2019, to continue with consultations on finalising the establishment of an APRM National Governing Council (NGC) to oversee APRM activities, as well as continued sensitisation of stakeholders.

The technical meeting on the APRM Instruments met today at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. The APRM instruments encompass of three broad projects namely, the Country scorecard, the bottleneck indicators, and the Africa Governance Index (AGI). Each of these projects is assigned to countries to focal points in different countries namely, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
