30 November 2022, Nairobi | The APRM continental secretariat in collaboration with the APRM National Secretariat in Kenya organised technical consultations on the forthcoming report on SDG 16 and governance goals of Agenda 2063. The technical consultations were organised with active participation of strategic partners including UN Economics Commission for Africa, UNDP- Regional office in Addis Ababa, Oslo Governance Centre, and equally the SDGs centre for Africa.

03 August 2022 - The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), an organ of the African Union (AU) that supports African countries in the area of credit ratings, undertakes routine analyses of rating actions assigned by international credit ratings agencies on African countries. The APRM has noted with concern the unsolicited rating action by Moody’s that resulted in the downgrade of the Government of Mauritius’ long-term foreign currency issuer rating from Baa2 to Baa3, and also a change in its outlook from negative to stable.

2022 APRM Day Statement
On March 9, 2003, 19 years ago, the African Peer Review Mechanism was founded by the NEPAD Heads of State Summit meeting held in Abuja, Nigeria. Now, almost two decades later, the APRM stretches across all AU regions, and includes 42 of the 55 AU Member States in the APRM community, with Burundi as the latest to accede at the 31st APR Forum of Heads of State and Government meeting held on 04 February 2022.
