Chad preparing for a Country Review

PUBLISHED BY:APRM POSTED:08-05-2015

The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and the Republic of Chad have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) relating to Technical Assessment Missions and the Country Review Visit to Chad. The MoU was signed during the Support Mission to the Country from 14 to 16 December 2014 by the newly appointed Chad Focal Point, Dr. Haoua Outman Djame on behalf of the Government of Chad and Mr. Joseph Tsang Mang Kin, representing the APR Panel of Eminent Persons.

The Mission to Chad was a collaboration between the APRM Strategic Partners, UNDP and AfDB concluded and adopted a Comprehensive Roadmap which sets out activities to be undertaken for a successful Country Review Mission to the Republic of Chad in August 2015.

In addition, the APR Continental Delegation also held a series of consultation meetings with National Stakeholders, the National Governing Council (NGC), including a visit to Chadian Minister of Finance and Budget, Honorable Kordjé Bedoumra. The meeting with Honorable Bedoumra was primarily to sensitize the Ministry on the Review Process in Chad and its financial implications on the National Budget.

The Chad APRM National Secretariat, the UNDP Chad Office and the APR Continental Secretariat have been charged with drafting the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the upcoming training session on the APRM Revised Questionnaire on Self-Assessment, planned for 16 – 18 January 2015.
