From 11-12 December 2013, Dr Mustapha Mekideche, Member of the APR Panel and Lead Panel Member for Mauritius attended the Launch of the Mauritius Country Review Report and National Programme of Action (NPOA) in Mauritius, at the invitation of the APR Focal Point for Mauritius/Special Representative of the Prime Minister for APRM, Ambassador Dillum.
The objectives of the mission were to officially commemorate the publication of the Mauritius Country Review Report. The Launch of the Mauritius Report marked another important step forward in the peer review process, as the country officially begins to implement the recommendations of the review report through the National Programme of Action (NPoA).
The Mission marked several events in Mauritius including meeting the President of the Republic, the Acting Prime Minister, the speaker of parliament, attending the Annual Summit of the National Economic and Social Council which is the body that supervised the writing of the Country Self-Assessment Report, and an official handover ceremony with stakeholders where the report was handed to Dr Arvin Boolell, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade.
