Mozambique, 12 November 2018 – It is official Mozambique Second Generation Country Review Mission is underway. Today the APRM Task Team Led by Mozambique Lead Panelist Ambassador Omar Attia Mona held its inaugural meeting with the Representatives of Mozambique’s National Governing Council (NGC) and the National Secretariat.
Chairperson of Mozambique’s NGC, Prof. Lourenco do Rozario presided over the meeting with the Task Team. In his remarks he pledged full support of the review mission and highlighted the diverse and inclusive nature of the national structure.
After introduction of the Task Team, Ambassador Mona proceeded to thank the people of Mozambique for the affirmation of their commitment to the APRM process. She said the decision to subject the Country to a Second peer review is no doubt evidence of the government’s commitment towards good governance. The Lead Panel Member further highlighted that the Mission Team members do not represent their respective countries and/or governments but work as experts for the APRM, with specific thematic expertise.
