President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf officially Launch Liberia Country Review

Monrovia – 11 April 2017: President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, officially launched the APRM Country Review in Liberia in an address to the Country Review Mission team. The Country Review Mission led by the Vice-Chairperson of the APR panel and Lead Panelist for Liberia, Hon. Brigitte Mabandla, at the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Madam President welcomed the country mission team and expressed her delight in hosting the APRM team accompanied by the independent experts to contribute to the review process. Following the meeting, Honorable Mabandla delivered a statement highlighting the significance, necessity and importance of undergoing the APRM review process to the members of the media. The press conference was hosted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, by the APRM Focal Point Minister, Hon. Boima S.Kamara.

Hon. Mabandla stated that the APRM mission team, would like to assure the government and people of Liberia of its full support and commitment to the country review and related processes. She also commanded Her Excellency for her leadership in making this review a reality. “I am pleased to announce that the national structures which are needed to facilitate a credible review are in place. I would also like to confirm that the review mission is confident about the preparedness of Liberia to undergo the review” affirmed Hon. Brigitte Mabandla.

The mission will hit the road in the direction of 10 counties, spread across the country from the 13th April.
