Strengthening collaboration between APRM and PAP

Johannesburg, South Africa, 29 September 2015- The Chairperson of the APR Panel of Eminent Persons, Dr Mustapha Mekideche, and Vice-Chairperson, Professor Mahamoud Youssouf Khayal, of the APR Panel of Eminent Persons met with president of Pan African Parliament (PAP), Honourable Roger Nkodo Dang, to deliberate on ways and means of strengthening the co-operation between the two institutions of the African Union.

The APR Panel was pleased to hear that Algeria, Burkina Faso, Uganda and Lesotho Review Reports will be presented on the 7th October 2015 during the Parliamentary Session.

The PAP President has pledged to strengthen partnership with the APRM in promoting the Mechanism across the continent.

Building on the existing partnership, PAP and APRM has agreed to hold a joint workshop on institutional governance next year which could serve as a platform for sharing of experiences and best practices, promotion of peer learning and collaboration on matters concerning governance.
