Sudan Review Team engages the Christian Minority


13 November 2016- In the context of the APRM Review Mission currently visiting led by APR Panel member Ambassador Ashraf Rashed, the Mission visited the Coptic Church in Khartoum. In the meeting discussed were centred on the role of the church in the society, the status of the Christian minority in Sudan as well as the freedom of belief and worship. The Review Team is scheduled to hold further consultative meetings with Sudan Bar Association, Academia etc.

The Mission is in its third week of consultations with stakeholders and it is expected to conclude on 20 November 2016. The Sudan Country Review Report will be presented in the upcoming January 2017 APRM Forum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
