President Nelson Mandela once said “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
Driven by this philosophy of the concern for positive contribution to society the APRM wishes to draw lessons from Nelson Mandela’s exemplary life which also speaks to the ideals good governance; a pillar that the mechanism advocates for. The APRM Secretariat Staff supported the Mandela Foundations call for people around the world to dedicate 67 minutes of their time on the 18th July (Madiba’s birthday) in contributing positively to their communities. Staff of the Secretariat came together and reached out to the M.E.S Kempton Park Shelter to make a difference in the lives of fellow children of the African soil.
